Loan of 15 million euros from EBRD accepted for procurement of trolleybuses

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The FBiH Government today accepted the indebtedness of the Federation of BiH under the Loan Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the implementation of the Public Transport Project in Sarajevo in the amount of up to 15,000,000 euros. The funds are intended for the procurement of new electric trolleybuses and related activities, with the aim of improving infrastructure development, increasing capacity and efficiency of environmentally clean public transport services in Sarajevo.

The repayment period is 13 years, with a two-year grace period. The funds will be transferred to the Sarajevo Canton, as the end user and debtor under this indebtedness. The Federal Ministry of Finance will harmonize and conclude a Sub-loan Agreement with the Sarajevo Canton, which will define the terms of loan repayment.

Today, consent was also given for the conclusion of the Subsidiary Loan Agreement between BiH and FBiH and the Sub-loan Agreement between FBiH and the Sarajevo Canton, and the federal Minister of Finance was authorized to sign them.
