Joining Džeko and Pjanić: Zukanović arrives at Roma

Another Bosnian international has become a member of Italian Roma, Ervin Zukanović reached an agreement with club officials on Thursday, and will have his first training session on Friday, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Zukanović joins Miralem Pjanić and Edin Džeko, and it will be interesting to watch this trio play together.

Zukanović was born on 11 February 1987. He made his debut for the national team on 16 October 2012. Although he delivered excellent performances and restored stability to the left side of the defence, which had been lacking since the departure of Saša Papac, Safet Sušić unexpectedly left him off the list of players for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Even after the World Cup, despite good performances, Zukanović was ignored by coach Sušić. Following a disastrous start to the qualifiers for the European Championship in France, Safet Sušić was sacked, and his successor Mehmed Baždarević brought Zukanović back into the team, where he became a regular international.

Zukanović arrived at Roma from Sampdoria, and he spoke with sporting director Walter Sabatini.
