The story of the picture from the Macedonian border that shook the world

In a bloody conflict between refugees and Macedonian security forces at the border with Greece near Gevgelija, five refugees were injured, and the drama continues, reports the Patria News Agency.

Amidst the chaos, photojournalists' cameras captured the personal drama of one refugee who, with his young son, found himself between two fires at one point - desperate refugees on one side and heavily armed Macedonians on the other.

With only one bag in one hand and his son in the other, this man tried to pass by the cordon, but was stopped by the shields of the Macedonian law enforcement officers.

Three men came to his aid, attempting to reason with the police officers, while the unfortunate man fell to his knees. They then helped him up and move to a safe location.
