We Survived: Naser Orić's Son Carried the Flag of the 28th Division

As part of the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, the event "We Survived" was held last night in the heroic settlement of Nezuk near Sapna, where former Podrinje fighters gathered, reports the Patria News Agency.

As part of the program, brigades of the 28th Division were lined up. The flags were mostly carried by the sons of former fighters, commanders, and Golden Lilies from Podrinje. The flag of the 28th Division was carried by Amar Orić, son of Naser, the former commander of this division.

– The goal of this gathering is primarily to pay tribute to the fallen members of the 28th Division, to evoke memories of July 1995, to try to talk about what happened, with the aim that all those who committed horrific crimes and the crime of genocide do not escape justice, said Zulfo Salihović, one of the Srebrenica survivors.

He pointed out that even 20 years after the genocide, former fighters of the 28th Division are being persecuted and arrested based on arrest warrants issued by the Republic of Serbia, the country that committed aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

– We will not allow the victim and the aggressor to be equated. Therefore, I ask you not to give up the fight for our dignity and justice – said Salihović.

In addition to him, other members of the 28th Division of the Army of RBiH, commanders, and government representatives addressed the gathered visitors. All of them stated in their addresses that Serbia must stop persecuting BiH patriots.

Nearly 5,000 participants of the Peace March will start from Nezuk towards Potočari this morning, writes Brčko Distrikt X.
