Carriers Announce Protests: 'Minister Forto Deceives Sector with Empty Promises'

(Patria) - The Logistics Consortium of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced the start of protests for September 1, 2025, at 6 AM, under the slogan "Protest Until Demands Are Met." Carriers claim that the Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH, Edin Forto, has been deceiving them for months with empty promises and marketing stunts, while key amendments to the Rulebook, as they state, have never been realized.

In an open letter, the Consortium reminds that they previously held talks with Minister Forto and received promises, but that these remained unfulfilled. They claim that the amendments and additions to the Rulebook required "20 words," while the minister, instead of concrete solutions, "disseminates untruths and incomplete information."

"On your side is a small group of '4+1' that reaps millions in profits, and tries to push us to ruin. On our side is every family, every local community, and the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina," the letter states.

They particularly criticized the fact that no expert from the sector was included in the Ministry's working groups, while, according to them, a Committee was formed to serve as a "smokescreen."

Carriers also announce that they will invoice the Ministry and Minister Forto 450 euros per day per vehicle for any delays caused by, as they claim, "inaction and failure to act."

"We are not 'drivers,' we are the bloodstream of the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With our own investments, without a single mark of incentive, we have invested more than four billion KM in vehicles, equipment, and modernization," the Consortium states.

Carriers demand that Minister Forto present solutions and translate previous promises into concrete measures in the BiH Parliament by 12 PM on September 1. If this does not happen, they state that the protest will last until their demands are met.
