Mostly dry roads and moderate traffic frequency characterize traffic flow in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to extremely low temperatures, patchy black ice is possible, especially on sections in higher mountainous areas, reports the Patria news agency.
Road maintenance crews are spreading materials, but due to low temperatures, the effect of the spreading material is slowed down. We ask drivers to drive with maximum caution, adapted to road conditions. Increased caution is also advised due to frequent landslides or rockfalls on the road. We remind that possession of winter equipment is mandatory for all vehicle categories.
Due to ground movement, traffic has been suspended for freight vehicles over 3.5 tonnes maximum permissible weight and buses on the M-5 Sarajevo transit main road. During the suspension, traffic for these vehicle categories is redirected through the city.
Traffic is slower on sections where rehabilitation works are being carried out, and where compliance with temporarily placed signage is mandatory. We highlight the Jablanica-Prozor road route, where traffic flows in one lane alternately with possible occasional stoppages. At border crossings, there are no longer waiting times, BIHAMK announced.
