Press Conference: Prof. Gavrankapetanović and Colleagues on the Situation at KCUS, Patients, and Pressure

The storm after the dismissal of Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović from the head of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology of KCUS, as well as the reactions of colleagues from BiH, the region, and the world, has not subsided, reports the Patria agency.

After most of the colleagues from the Clinic opposed the new structure of the Clinic and the dismissal of Dr. Gavrankapetanović and the way changes are being made, the management of KCUS began to deal with these doctors. Pressure and blackmail followed, some withdrew their signatures of support, while others continued the fight against the tyranny reigning at KCUS.

The handover commission spent days searching through the office of Prof. Dr. Gavrankapetanović, cataloging private belongings and property, and the police intervened, allowing the presence of Prof. Dr. Gavrankapetanović's lawyer, Senad Pećanin.

Regarding the new situation and the state of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Traumatology of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, as well as the damage being done to patients and the pressure from the management of the Clinical Center on surgeons and other employees, doctors from this Clinic will speak today: Prof. Dr. Ismet Gavrankapetanović, Prof. Dr. Mirza Biščević, Prim. Mr. Sci. Med. Dr. Senad Maksić, Prim. Mr. Sci. Med. Dr. Semin Bećirbegović, Dr. Hasan Tanović.

The press conference will be held today at 4 PM, in Veliki park (across from BBI) in Sarajevo.
