Sarajevo Skipped: After Banja Luka and Lukavica, New State Coalition Meeting with Čović in Mostar

(Patria) - The President of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, held a working meeting today at the HDZ BiH House with the European Union Special Representative in BiH and Head of the EU Delegation Luigi Soreca.

The meeting discussed the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the importance of stable political dialogue, and steps on the European path. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of accelerating reform processes ahead of the meeting of representatives of political parties at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held in Mostar next Monday, in order to achieve strong progress for Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the European Union by the end of the current year, without delay. We remind you that the two previous meetings of the leaders of the parties forming the state government were held in Banja Luka and Lukavica.

Čović emphasized HDZ BiH's commitment to BiH's European path, as well as the importance of implementing reforms that will ensure general stability and progress for BiH for the benefit of all its citizens. He stressed that HDZ BiH will continue to lead efforts to fulfill all necessary conditions for approaching the European Union. He also pointed out that in the upcoming period, discussions on the Election Law of BiH will be updated, the resolution of which will protect the individual and constitutionally guaranteed rights of the three constituent peoples.

Soreca emphasized on this occasion that concrete and accelerated steps are needed to seize the opportunities available to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also highlighted the importance of completing preparations for the opening of membership negotiations, as well as adopting a comprehensive program for adapting legislation to the EU.

Readiness for further cooperation and coordinated action was expressed so that Bosnia and Herzegovina can achieve new progress in the integration process as soon as possible. This meeting, as emphasized, once again confirmed the importance of partnership and joint commitment to BiH's European future.
