Recommendations for Citizens of Sarajevo Canton: Reduce Outdoor Stay Due to Unhealthy Air

(Patria) - High values of polluting PM 10 particles have been recorded at all measurement sites in Sarajevo Canton (SC) today as well.

Due to changing weather conditions, concentrations of this pollutant in the air are oscillating, while values of other monitored pollutants are not elevated.

As announced by the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, occasional precipitation in the form of rain is expected until the end of the day, as well as on Wednesday and Thursday, with weak inversion during the morning and evening hours and light wind of variable direction.

Such meteorological conditions will not contribute to satisfactory air quality.

Air quality is monitored continuously, and the public will be promptly informed of any potential measures.

Currently, the Institute for Public Health of SC recommends that individuals with chronic lung and heart diseases, as well as those prone to severe allergic reactions, the elderly, chronic stable patients, pregnant women, and young children avoid staying outdoors.
