Safet Plakalo, one of SARTR's founders, has passed away

Safet Plakalo, one of the founders of the Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR), passed away yesterday in Sarajevo at the age of 65, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- We inform colleagues, the audience and all friends of SARTR that on March 19, 2015, our Safet Plakalo passed away, one of the founders of the Sarajevo War Theatre, its first director for three terms, a playwright, theatre critic and theatre scholar - it was announced from SARTR.

Safet Plakalo was one of the most respected playwrights and one of the few South Slavic writers of dramatic poetry.

He was born on March 4, 1950, in the village of Plakali, municipality of Pljevlja (Montenegro). He attended high school in Sarajevo. With his first written play "Vrh", at the age of 26, he became the youngest dramaturg in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
