Sabrija Pojskić passes away, funeral tomorrow in Sarajevo

Last night in Sarajevo, after a serious illness, Sabrija Pojskić, president of the Forum of Seniors of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, passed away, reports the Patria news agency.

The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the political scene of our country have lost a great deal with the passing of a great man, our comrade, politician and humanitarian. We will remember him as a special person, of incredible energy and persistence, selfless and always ready to help others.

Sabrija Pojskić was born in Zenica on April 2, 1934, where he completed primary school and high school, while he graduated from the Faculty of Law in Sarajevo. He earned his master's degree at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, and during his working life he held responsible positions in the economy, political and state bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the post-war period, he served three terms as a representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and two terms as president of the Constitutional Commission of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He was a long-time member of the Main Board of the SDP BiH, and served several times as president of the Council for Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the SDP BiH.

The SDP BiH expresses sincere condolences to the family on the loss of one of the most significant members of our party. A commemorative session on the occasion of the death of Sabrija Pojskić will be held tomorrow, February 14, at 11:00 a.m. in the hall of the Centar Municipality, while the funeral will be held at the Bare City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
