Journalist and writer Enes Ratkušić passed away

MOSTAR, (Patria) - Writer, sociology professor, columnist Enes Ratkušić passed away this morning in Mostar after a short and serious illness at the age of 61. The funeral prayer will be held in front of the Emperor's Mosque in Stolac on Thursday at 5:30 PM, and he will be buried in the Ošanići cemetery.

Ratkušić was born in 1957 in Ošanići near Stolac. He worked at the Stolac Secondary School Center, the Civil Engineering School in Mostar, and at the University of Mostar "Džemal Bijedić". He spent most of his working life at RTV Mostar.

He published his articles in the magazines Ljiljan, Dani, Preporod, Zambak, Ujedinjena Bosna, Stav.

He published professional and literary works for the magazines Most, Dijalog, Slovo Gorčina, Bošnjačka pismohrana, Behar, etc.

He was also a columnist for the Al Jazeera portal, and the editor-in-chief of the magazine Slovo Gorčina.

He is the author of two novels: "The Secret of the Bosnian Stick", which was translated into Turkish, and "The Forgotten Speech of the Awakened", as well as collections of stories "Wrestling with the Devil", "The Worldly School", "Poisoning with Healthy Food". His last published work was the collection of philosophical essays "Conflict of Deviations".
