Today, Nedžad Bektić, president of the Association of Recipients of the Highest Wartime Recognitions of Podrinje, passed away, reports the Patria News Agency.
Nedžad Bektić, originally from Karačići near Srebrenica, was a prominent member of the 28th Division of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- We remain immensely grateful for his contribution to the defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war, as well as his strong commitment and work on return, the restoration of life in eastern Bosnia, and his significant contribution to numerous activities of the civil society coalition “Prvi mart”. May he rest in eternal peace - the statement reads.
