LUKAVAC, (Patria) - Nazif Mujić, winner of the "Silver Bear" at the Berlin Film Festival in 2013 for his role in Danis Tanović's film “An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker”, passed away this morning, reports the Tuzlanski portal.
Nazif Mujić, from the village of Svatovac near Lukavac, gained instant fame by winning the prestigious award at the Berlin Film Festival, receiving the prize for Best Male Performance.
For years, much was written about this "Silver Bear" winner, his difficult life, and the moment he decided to sell the "Silver Bear" for 4,000 euros due to his severe financial situation.
The date of the burial will be announced later, confirmed by Nazif's relative and member of the Council of National Minorities of the Federation of BiH and expert associate for Roma issues in Tuzla Canton, Mehmed Mujić, adding that he will try to activate everyone tomorrow to help the family with burial costs.
- I call on all humane people to help the family with the funeral - said Mehmed Mujić.
