Former BiH Presidency member Beriz Belkić passed away

Today, at the age of 77, Beriz Belkić, a Bosnian politician and former member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, passed away, confirmed the top officials of the Party of BiH to Patria.

Although he did not appear much in public life, and spent his retirement days on his estate in Prača, he followed political developments.

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in 1989. He joined the Party of BiH after 1996, became vice-president four years later, and was president of the Political Council from 2012.

During his career, he held management positions in the Skenderija Youth Center and the Traffic School Center. He was employed as a secretary in the SUP Ilidža, and head of one of the departments.

From 1996, Belkić was the Minister of Labor, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees, and then from 1998, the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton Government. For eight months in 2002, he was also a member of the BiH Presidency.

In the general elections in 2000, he was elected as a representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and he continued his mandate in this body after the elections in 2006 and 2010.
