(Patria) - Merima Njegomir, legendary folk singer, passed away at the age of 68. This information was confirmed by her daughter Ljubica.
Merima was born in Zemun, and she started dealing with music in 1972. Dragan Živković Tozovac composed two songs for her first album in 1977, which was released by Jugoton, and since then she has released over 25 albums.
Serbian media reported a few days ago that Merima's health condition was poor and that she had a fast-growing form of tumor. She could not get out of bed, and her children visited her. She avoided speaking to the public about her illness.
