Hafeza Sabljaković, long-time federal deputy, passes away

Hafeza Sabljaković, a long-time politician and deputy of DNZ in the previous term of the Federal Parliament, died yesterday in Cazin, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

She was born in 1963 in Cazin. She completed the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, and worked at the Cazin Health Center from 1990 to 1993. She was elected to the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH from 1998.

She was one of the most active deputies in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH and a great fighter for gender equality in BiH, for which she won a Special Recognition this year. 

Sabljaković had been battling cancer for the past year, but lost the battle for life.
