Documentary 'Ivica Osim Boulevard' Premieres April 3 on FTV

(Patria) - The documentary film "Ivica Osim Boulevard", produced by Federal Television, directed by Muhamed Bikić, will premiere as part of "Documentary Thursday" on April 3 at 8:50 PM.

The exceptionally poignant documentary, edited by Jasmin Nalo, dedicated to the legendary footballer and coach of Željezničar, and selector of the former Yugoslavia, tells the untold story of his origins, childhood, and early youth, of the former Stari Hrasno in Novo Sarajevo, and today's Ivica Osim Boulevard.

The legendary Osim, affectionately called Švabo and Štraus, vividly and inspirationally recalls almost every character in his family and neighborhood, details, the social conditions, coexistence, and kindness of those times in our region, specifically where he was born, where he took his first steps in life and football.

Osim, in his own unique way, takes us through today's Boulevard, studying, giving math lessons, digging gardens in the neighborhood, juggling a ball on the rails, picking raspberries through thorns, tasting somun, ružice, šampita, gurabije, and counting coffee beans in a fildžan (small cup)...



And when we walk with Švabo through his boulevard of memories, he ultimately asks himself - would it have been better if he had learned to play the accordion...

Ivica Osim Boulevard concludes with a lyrical biography woven through a song dedicated to the legendary Štraus, from the recently published poetry collection 'Tabakera', by author Jasmina Bikić, and in a brilliant interpretation of the verses by Prof. Jasminka Šipka, all accompanied by the musical backdrop of the legendary Johann Strauss's 'The Blue Danube' and 'Radetzky March, Op 228'.

The author was also the first initiator to rename the former Zvornička street to Ivica Osim Boulevard, during the legendary Osim's lifetime (2016), which he did not agree to. However, after his death (2022), the initiative was reactivated and realized to the general satisfaction of all residents of the capital city and the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
