PM Uk on power outage: Situation under control, no reason for panic

(Patria) - Regarding the power outage across Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Nihad Uk stated that there is no reason for panic, and that the power supply is slowly returning to normal.

Prime Minister Uk emphasized that he is in constant contact with the Sarajevo Canton Civil Protection Administration, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS, and other relevant services, along with the Minister of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of KS Bojan Bošnjak, who are reporting that there are no significant consequences caused by the collapse of the power system in Sarajevo Canton.

"Vital parameters of Sarajevo Canton are functioning, all available generators are operational. Hospitals have not interrupted their work, and all healthcare facilities continue to operate and provide necessary services.

Police officers are actively regulating traffic within their capacities to ensure order and safety on the roads. Public transport has been supplemented with additional buses, replacing trolleybuses and trams.

Civil Protection and all communal companies of KS have made water tankers available. Firefighters are working to rescue citizens who found themselves in elevators during the power outage.

We understand the concern, but there is no reason for panic. We are keeping the situation under control and have taken all necessary measures to ensure the safety and stability of life in Sarajevo Canton," said Prime Minister Uk.
