Premier Novalić in Zavidovići: Revival of “Krivaja” is possible

ZAVIDOVIĆI, (Patria) - Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Fadil Novalić stated today in Zavidovići, after a conversation with workers of “Krivaja”, that the FBiH Government will do everything within the law to resolve problems in that company. 
 
- I must admit that “Krivaja” is in the most difficult situation of all companies in BiH. Although we worked intensively on resolving it, we have not yet succeeded because the problem is of a legal nature - said Novalić.
 
He reminded that the FBiH Government submitted a criminal complaint related to events at “Krivaja” over a year ago. He emphasized that pressure should be put on the judiciary to speed up the process, and not for anyone to interfere with its outcome.
 
Novalić stressed that the Government is on the side of justice, but it cannot determine it, only the judiciary can. If the property were returned to the state, then the Government could restructure the factory and employ some workers while providing social care for others.
 
- Now we have a situation where the Government provided money, workers are not working, and the property no longer belongs to the state, and it is obvious that something is not regular, which is why we initiated criminal proceedings - stated Novalić.
 
He pointed out that some workers' protests recently may have had a political background due to the election year, but that is not the case with the workers of “Krivaja”, as they are protesting because of the misfortune that has befallen them.
 
The Mayor of Zavidovići Municipality Hašim Mujanović said it is more than clear that the privatization of “Krivaja” involves a criminal intent to easily and quickly obtain millions worth of state property.
 
- I am not afraid of the partnership group, and as long as I am mayor, the property will not be registered in their name, unless they prove they paid 8.7 million KM, and not that they are conducting fast and suspicious privatizations - emphasized Mujanović.
 
The workers of “Krivaja” presented their existential problems that have lasted for years to Novalić and requested an urgent resolution of the company's case to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
 
The Federal Prime Minister today spoke with the municipal mayor Hašim Mujanović and his associates about economic development and possibilities for opening new jobs in the Zavidovići area.
 
As the mayor pointed out, there is great interest from investors in production capacities, primarily “Krivaja”, but potential investments are still hindered by unresolved property-legal relations. That the “Krivaja” plants can become a motor of positive changes in the municipality, as stated, is evidenced by the successful operation of the prefabricated house factory “Krivaja Homes”.
 
Novalić expressed support for the municipality's efforts to help the workers of this former giant of the wood processing industry. He emphasized that the revival of “Krivaja” is possible, and that the Federation Government has always been and will be in the coming period at the disposal of its management and workers.
