SDA Prime Minister, HDZ Finance Minister, SDS Security Minister, DF Transport Minister, and PDP Head of Diplomacy

Judging by the announcements of party leaders forming the state-level coalition, today is "D-day" for the formation of state and federal government.

At the meeting in the BiH Presidency, starting at 4 PM, the leaders of SDA, DF, HDZBiH, and the Alliance for Changes of RS (PDP-SDS) will finalize three-month negotiations on the distribution of ministerial portfolios in the Council of Ministers of BiH, writes the Patria News Agency.

Bakir Izetbegović, Željko Komšić, Dragan Čović, Mladen Ivanić, and Mladen Bosić reached a general agreement on which party would get which ministry at a meeting held on Thursday.

What is certain for now is that the Prime Minister will come from SDA, the Finance Minister from HDZ, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs from PDP, and that SDS will get the leading positions of two ministries - Foreign Trade and Economic Relations and Security.

Regarding Izetbegović's demands, he requested the Ministry of Justice for SDA cadres, and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, for which Čović is also interested besides Defense.

Komšić expressed the wish for DF to get the position of Minister of Transport and Communications, which is also of interest to Čović. 

Also, the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees is attractive to both Čović and Izetbegović. However, as they all unanimously stated that these are just minor details, it is expected that they will announce the party distribution of ministerial portfolios to journalists today.

After discussing the state level, Čović, Izetbegović, and Komšić will begin negotiations on the Government of the Federation of BiH.

What is currently known is that the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry is of most interest to all three.

Also, it is already known to the public that Čović is seeking six positions (5 Croatian and 1 Serbian). Komšić, who requested 3 Serbian positions and one from the "others" category, stated that if the wishes of the HDZ leader are met, then DF will not participate in that government.
