According to ease of doing business among 189 countries, BiH is in 131st place

In the Doing Business 2014 economic policy report, published on the World Bank website, a comparative analysis of the ease of doing business in 189 countries worldwide was conducted.

According to the ease of doing business among 189 countries, BiH is in an unenviable 131st place compared to countries in the region: Montenegro 44th, Croatia 89th, Kosovo 86th, Albania in 90th place, reports the Patria News Agency.

The economic analysis covered ten categories. For BiH, this analysis looks like this: starting a business 174th place, obtaining construction permits 175th place, electricity connection 164th place, registering property/ownership 96th, obtaining credit 73rd, investor protection 115th, enforcing contracts 115th, resolving insolvency 77th, and cross-border trade 107th place.

In the category of ease of paying taxes, Bosnia and Herzegovina is in 135th place out of 189 countries. Countries in the region are in a much more favorable position. Croatia is best rated in 34th place, Kosovo 43rd, Montenegro 86th, while Albania is last in 189th place.

Such analyses are of great importance for policymakers, as well as for potential investors, reports NAP.
