Preljević: Trojkaši want to win over Westerners, so they use Islamophobia

(Patria) - Professor Vahidin Preljević in a post on social network X commented on the latest claims about "Islamist danger", after the Vice President of the FBiH Igor Stojanović (SDP) accused the SDA of wanting to create an "Islamic republic" on 22 percent of the territory.

"The Trojkaši are obviously systematically building a narrative about an Islamist danger to present themselves as a bulwark against that alleged threat. In a way, they are beginning to stage themselves as guards at the ramparts of Christianity, taking over that banner from self-proclaimed ethno-separatist crusaders.

Although they themselves inherit the concept of defending Bosnia and Herzegovina 1992-1995, they now, ironically, take over the propaganda patterns of Karadžić, Boban and Tuđman, and later Dodik and Čović, for whom civic democracy is equally an Islamic state, frightening Westerners, whom they want to win over, with some Islamism.

This is certainly cultural racism and Islamophobia in its pure form, this time from within. Although the SDA, with which, incidentally, I never sympathized, let alone voted for them, had and has a million flaws, it as the ruling party never had a serious project of building some theocratic state.

That accusation makes about as much sense as if we accused the SDP, the successor of the communists, of wanting to install a dictatorship of the proletariat. The subtext of this propaganda therefore does not primarily target that party, but the mere fact of the demographic Muslim majority as a biopolitical threat.

Perhaps that biopolitical phantasm of a 'Muslim majority', which in that horizon of consciousness automatically means an 'Islamic state', is the mental background of the Trojka's support for Schmidt's interventions and leniency towards the HDZ. Theodor Lessing called this mental predisposition self-hatred.

At the same time, the Trojka remains mute and deaf to much more drastic examples of the desecularization of the state in predominantly Catholic and Orthodox parts of the country (e.g., raiding and consecrating state offices, introducing the slava of institutions, religious symbols in classrooms, etc.).

When two years ago I wrote an essay about the 'narrative of relaxation, according to which Čović and Dodik are actually good, but Sarajevo was provoking them all the time, I predicted that this would also imply a revision of the past. That happened. The Trojkaši have obviously converted to Dževad Galijašević," states Preljević.
