Over 5.8 million vehicles on the A1 motorway in 2014

Considering the newly built kilometers of the motorway on Corridor 5C in 2014, an increase in vehicles on the A1 and an increase in revenue were expected indicators of success and fulfillment of the set plans of JP Autoceste FBiH, writes the Patria News Agency.

The number of vehicles that used the A1 motorway in 2014 was 5,830,813 vehicles, which is 180,000 more vehicles compared to 2013.

The revenue generated from toll collection in 2014 amounted to 24 million KM and is 10.81% higher than the revenue in 2013. The reason for this increase is also the opening of new kilometers of the motorway on Corridor Vc for traffic, as well as the toll collection system for the new kilometers of the motorway.

Revenue generated from toll collection is used to finance the construction of new kilometers of the motorway.

The previous year, 2014, was the year of completion of the construction of motorway sections from Zenica to Tarčin and from Međugorje to the international border crossing Bijača, precisely to the border with Croatia.

With the completion of the motorway and its opening for traffic, JP Autoceste FBiH strives to maintain the level of safety for passengers and vehicles in accordance with European standards.

Quality construction, quality maintenance, and the introduction of state-of-the-art safety and management systems, such as the construction and opening of a modern Maintenance and Traffic Control Center, contributed to the fact that in 2014, not a single serious traffic accident with severe injuries or fatalities was recorded on the A1 motorway.
