Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee session interrupted

The session of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH was interrupted when the Committee members were supposed to discuss amendments to the Election Law that would provide for a ban on candidates convicted of war crimes, reports Patria news agency.

Aleksandra Pandurević and Momčilo Novaković left the session.

The proposer was SDP MP Denis Bećirović, who also proposed amendments to the Criminal Code providing for the punishment of persons who deny genocide.

These amendments to the law were supposed to be considered by the parliamentarians at the session of the House of Representatives scheduled for September 7.

At the 51st session of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PSBiH), due to the absence of the proposer's representatives, it was decided to request an extension of 30 days from the Collegium of the House for the submission of a report on the Bill on Parliamentary Oversight, proposed by the Joint Temporary Committee of both houses of the PSBiH for the preparation and submission of the Bill on Parliamentary Oversight to the parliamentary procedure.

For the same reasons, the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee decided to request an extension of 30 days from the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the PSBiH for the submission of a report on the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Ministries and Other Bodies of BiH, proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH.

Due to the lack of procedural conditions for its conclusion, the 51st session of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives was interrupted at the 3rd item on the agenda.
