16th Working Session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Interrupted: Eight Delegates Left the Session

(Patria) - The continuation of the 16th working session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly began at 1:20 PM, and delegates requested from the House Chairman Nikola Špirić to change the agenda.

Špirić said that this session had been interrupted due to a lack of quorum, but that the agenda had been established.

"Obviously, there is no readiness to work on substantive matters," said Špirić.

Delegate Džemal Smajić said he wished to hear the sentence "I open the discussion on the agenda" and "I put it to a vote."

"Once, colleague Dragan Čović did that for the last time, and never again. Is that in accordance with the Rules of Procedure? I say it is not, you will claim it is. You continue to violate the Rules of Procedure of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly. You are blocking life in this country. You are blocking Bosnia and Herzegovina's European path, you are not allowing this House to start working, to discuss very important topics and laws that await us by denying us delegates our rights. I hope that this criminal complaint filed by Miletić will see the light of day in the form of a case at the BiH Prosecutor's Office, because obviously there is no other way here to move towards the European path," said Smajić.

Head of the Bosniak Club Šefik Džaferović said that the removal of Nikola Špirić and two SNSD ministers are on the agenda, but that they were placed at the very end, as items 52 and 53.

"We demand that these items be moved to the beginning of this session, and then we will discuss other items. The session has not started, and this is the question of all questions: whether you will put this to a vote or not," said Džaferović.

Nikola Špirić said that there will be no permutation of items because the agenda has been established and stated that it is everyone's will whether or not to participate in the work of the session.

Member of the Collegium of the House Kemal Ademović said that the agenda was compiled without his consent and consultation with him.

"You claim one thing, I claim another, then there is no consensus and let the House decide. You disqualify the House, because the House will only decide on what you say it will decide on," said Ademović.

The Bosniak Club again left the session, and Špirić declared a one-hour break.

After the break, eight delegates did not return to the session, nor did Dragan Čović, for whom Špirić stated was absent for justified reasons.
