House of Representatives and House of Peoples Adopted the Presidency's Statement

Deputies of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH opened the debate on the Statement of the BiH Presidency. Saša Magazinović from SDP spoke about the content of the Statement, and as he said, if he had his way, he would add the point of building trust among politicians because it has been lost, reports the news agency Patria.

- No one has the right to be the exclusive representative of European rights; this should be our common task where the positions and opposition meet. We all know this is the first step, but we will see who is committed to working seriously, said Magazinović.

Denis Bećirović stated in his address that it is the obligation of all deputies and other government representatives in this country to make even the smallest effort for BiH to move forward.

- This statement certainly represents a certain step forward. Is this enough? My answer is no, considering the situation in BiH, but we should still seize the opportunity that the EU offers BiH, Bećirović urged.

Bećirović said he wished the Statement was about Euro-Atlantic integration, not just European.

Jasmin Emrić from A-SDA said that he fully supports the text of the Statement.

- We expect a plan and program of action for the obligations from the Statement to be fulfilled. We hope this will not remain just a Statement and that it will essentially have its implementation in this house, Emrić emphasized.

After the remaining two items on the agenda, the deputies proceeded to vote on the Statement. With 34 votes in favor and a sufficient entity majority, the House of Representatives of the PS BiH adopted the Statement of the BiH Presidency. The same Statement was also adopted by the House of Peoples of the PS BiH. The session of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH ended at 10:35.

The Statement was signed by the leaders of all 14 political parties represented in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

At the invitation of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini will address the deputies and delegates at the first joint session of both houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH at 11:40 AM today.
