(Patria) - An urgent session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament has been scheduled for Thursday, April 18, with only one item on the agenda: Consideration of the current political situation in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina – the constitutional legislative role of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, in accordance with Article IV. 4. a) of the BiH Constitution.
The proposers of this item are MPs Sanja Vulić, Obren Petrović, Ljubica Miljanović, Milorad Kojić, Milan Petković, Miroslav Vujičić, and Čedomir Stojanović.
There are no materials for this session, nor do the MPs we spoke with know what specifically will be discussed.
“I expect anything at the session itself. Raised voices, accusations, and arguments. We will see,” said one of the opposition MPs.
Other opposition MPs think similarly.
SNSD President Milorad Dodik also spoke about this session, announcing a new meeting of the state coalition in Istočno Sarajevo for today. As he announced, if an agreement is reached, some solutions could be on the agenda at the session as early as tomorrow.
“We expect to resolve the problems of the blockage in the work of the House of Peoples, which has been blocked by Bosniaks who left and thus blocked the work of the House of Peoples. To resolve the issue of the illegal High Representative and his decisions, to suspend them, and to agree that as soon as possible, and it is already possible tomorrow, the House of Representatives will pass an election law, which would establish all that is normal for a country, and that is the technical level.
The Central Election Commission, which has gained too much significance through the decisions of the illegal Schmidt, must be stripped of power. Election costs must be rationalized, and it must be ensured that the representation of peoples, constituent peoples, is visible in the election commissions, as foreseen by the Constitution and the law,” Dodik stated.
The most numerous opposition caucus, SDA, announced an address for tomorrow before the session on the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović said on Tuesday morning that many things were agreed upon the previous night in Mostar, but that it is better not to talk about them too much. First, Čović and SDP leader Nermin Nikšić had a meeting, and then Aleksandar Vučić, Milorad Dodik, Radovan Višković, Borjana Krišto, and Lidija Bradara attended a working dinner, after which Čović did not hide his satisfaction. A new meeting of the same actors followed on Tuesday at the Mostar Fair, and Dodik announced an attempt for a new agreement or the dissolution of the partnership for today.
The outcome of the session itself will likely depend on today's coalition meeting in Istočno Sarajevo.
