House of Representatives of PS BiH adopted Resolution on the need to open negotiations between BiH and the European Union

(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session adopted the Draft Resolution on the need to adopt a decision to open negotiations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union on accession to the EU.

The resolution was adopted a day before the visit of the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The resolution was proposed by the members of the collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Speaker Marinko Čavara (HDZ) and his deputies Denis Zvizdić (NiP) and Nebojša Radmanović (SNSD). 36 parliamentarians voted for the adoption of the resolution, two abstained, while no one voted against.

Speaking about why they should vote for the adoption of the resolution, Zvizdić stated that the state authorities have done a lot of serious and demanding work. As an argument in favor of this statement, he pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina has answered 4,000 questions from the EU questionnaire. He claims that the countries in the region had 50 to 60 percent fewer questions.

A conclusion by Jasmin Emrić was also adopted, requesting the Council of Ministers of BiH to submit information within 30 days on the implementation of obligations from the 14 EU priorities, as well as an action plan for fulfilling obligations in order to monitor the European path and harmonize priority laws with the acquis communautaire of the European Union. 27 deputies voted for the conclusion.
