House of Representatives supported the FBiH Budget for 2024, final decision rests with the House of Peoples, which convenes on Thursday

The House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament supported the Proposal of the FBiH Budget for 2024 in the amount of 7.5 billion KM.

60 representatives voted for the Budget.

For the Budget to be passed, it needs the support of the House of Peoples, whose session is scheduled for Thursday.

Along with the Budget, the Proposal for the Law on the Execution of the FBiH Budget for 2024 was also supported.

Also, along with the budget, the proposal of the Party for BiH to secure 20 million for the Solidarity Fund during 2024 was adopted, as well as the proposal of NES for the subsidy of scientific journals in the field of technical sciences.

Consent was given to the Decision on Temporary Financing of the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the Federation of BiH for the period 1.1. – 31.3.2024, as well as the Decisions on giving consent to the Financial Plan of the Federal Employment Service for 2024 and the estimate of the plan for 2025 and 2026, and the Decision on the Execution of the Financial Plan of the Federal Employment Service for 2024.

The Proposal for the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Sale of Apartments with Tenancy Rights was also adopted, which was done after the urgency of the Constitutional Court, given that a verdict was previously rendered.

Earlier in the day, the FBiH Government unanimously decided not to accept the proposed amendments to the FBiH Budget for 2024.

Representatives then stuck to the proposed amendments, and Parliament voted on them. The amendment by Mahir Mešalić to allocate funds for the completion of the FK Tušanj Tuzla stadium was rejected, and then a separate vote was requested. After the separate vote, the amendment did not receive support, nor did all other proposed amendments.

In addition to the amendment concerning the Tušanj stadium, among others, amendments concerning the reconstruction of the hospital in Gračanica, the construction of an Olympic swimming pool in Tuzla, an institution of science and culture of importance for BiH, a transfer for youth, a transfer for financing student standards, an amendment concerning oncological patients and the solidarity fund were rejected.

Furthermore, amendments regarding the procurement of sanitary equipment and medicines for the Cantonal Hospital Zenica, co-financing of the USK Government building, equipping the USK police, the execution of the main project for the Sarajevo - Tuzla expressway, capital transfer for Tuzla International Airport, funds for early detection and prevention of HIV and malignant diseases, an amendment by the Commission for Youth Issues concerning issues of that category, an amendment concerning the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute, subsidies to BHRT and FTV, and a transfer to the VKBI Association were also not supported.
