House of Representatives of the FBiH: Employers' initiative supported, FBiH Government given deadline to propose laws

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - After the debate of the thematic session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH was exhausted, presiding officer Elvir Karajbić called on the presidents of the clubs, the Prime Minister of the FBiH and employers to harmonize the conclusions.

Two conclusions were harmonized, and two were proposed by authorized proposers.

The Conclusion was adopted that the House of Representatives accepts the initiative of the Association of Employers of the FBiH on the adoption of a set of laws that they presented at the session, and the Government and relevant ministries are tasked to submit them to the parliamentary procedure within 60 days in accordance with the Constitution of the FBiH.

74 deputies voted for the conclusion, with no votes against or abstentions.

The proposal of the Association of Employers that representatives of the Association of Employers and the Union of Independent Trade Unions be invited to sessions of working bodies of interest to them, with the possibility of discussion but without voting rights, did not receive support.

The proposal received 36 votes, with 31 abstentions.

The second conclusion also received support. This conclusion tasks the Government of the FBiH to convene a session of the Economic and Social Council within 60 days and for it to be held.

59 deputies voted for this conclusion, and 11 abstained.

The third conclusion initially did not receive support. Namely, the clubs of deputies of the SDP and SBB proposed a conclusion defining that the House of Representatives of the FBiH will not consider the Law on Contributions and the Law on Income Tax without the Proposal of the Law on Minimum Wage. Subsequently, an individual vote was requested, and the conclusion passed with 53 votes in favor, 19 abstentions, and 9 against.

The DF-GS clubs requested that, along with the laws proposed by the Association of Employers, the law on linking service years be submitted to urgent procedure.

This proposal also went to an individual vote, after support was lacking during the electronic vote.

However, 37 votes in favor were not enough for this law to pass.

Presiding officer Karajbić concluded the thematic session and announced that the second regular session would begin at 4:10 PM.
