Brčko District Authorities Sign Stability Pact, Send Message to Political Leaders

(Patria) - Ahead of the 26th anniversary of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, top officials of the legislative and executive authorities sent a strong message of unity and stability. Representatives of the Government and Assembly of Brčko District BiH, coming from all three constituent peoples, signed a joint statement confirming their commitment to preserving the functionality of this specific administrative unit.

The signatories clearly stated that they will continue to act in accordance with the Final Arbitral Decision and the Constitution of BiH. Key priorities for the future period were listed as:

Implementation of substantive reforms;
Strengthening economic development;
Improvement of infrastructure of direct importance to all citizens.
Independent problem-solving without external pressure
The statement emphasizes that the Brčko District possesses institutions that are capable and responsible for resolving all issues independently.

Officials underlined that decisions are made through dialogue, agreement, and consensus, which are the fundamental principles on which Brčko rests.

Appeal to politicians at higher levels of government

A special part of the statement refers to political actors from the Federation of BiH and Republika Srpska. A clear call was made to politicians at other levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina to:

"Refrain from activities and statements that do not contribute to stability and the implementation of policies agreed upon within the institutions of Brčko District BiH."

In conclusion, it was stated that the Brčko District of BiH remains a space of responsible governance and common interest for all peoples and citizens, thus once again focusing on inter-ethnic cooperation as the only path to further progress.
