State Department and US Embassy in BiH Representatives Visit DKPT

Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH Mirsad Vilić received today a working visit from representatives of the Office for Assistance in the Fight against Terrorism, the US State Department and representatives of the US Embassy in BiH, Patria reports.

Director Vilić welcomed the guests, expressing gratitude for the trust shown and the interest of State Department representatives in the work of security forces in BiH. He then briefly presented the Directorate's competencies, with special emphasis on the plan and program of training for Directorate officers, which are continuously conducted.

On this occasion, the guests presented the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program (ATA Program). The goal of this program is to align police procedures in the fight against terrorism for civilian and police officers of law enforcement agencies. Since the program's establishment in 1983, it has trained and assisted security structures in 154 different countries. The Office for Assistance in the Fight against Terrorism has a specially developed plan and program, and engages a large number of experts for training in various areas, such as protection of national borders, critical infrastructure, protection of officials, etc. The interlocutors discussed areas and modalities of cooperation that could be realized in the coming period.
