(Patria) - Representatives of the People's European Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NES BiH) marked March 1 - Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina by laying flowers, reciting the Fatiha and observing a minute of silence at memorial sites across Sarajevo.
They laid flowers and recited the Fatiha at the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery and the grave of the first President of the Republic of BiH, Alija Izetbegović, in front of the Eternal Flame, and at the Memorial to the Killed Children of Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995.
NES representatives highlighted the great significance of this date, which symbolizes the sovereignty, independence, integrity and unity of BiH. On this day, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina went to the referendum and supported the thousand-year-old tradition and history of our country.
"This is one of the most significant dates and it is extremely important to celebrate it and remember the sacrifices made so that we can live freely today in an independent Bosnia and Herzegovina. With truth and faith in God, we fought and we will continue to fight. Our homeland will be a permanent category as long as it lives in our hearts. Defiant and proud, our country, Bosnia and Herzegovina," said NES representatives.
Happy Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina to all citizens.
