Representatives of Judo Club "Sarajevo" visited Centar Municipality

Chairman of the Centar Municipal Council, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Ajnadžić, received representatives of Judo Club "Sarajevo" led by coach Emir Ibragić, who stated on this occasion that the headquarters of this most successful judo club is located in the Centar municipality, reports the Patria News Agency.

 

- 90 children aged 5 to 18 train diligently in our club and win numerous medals at sports competitions. I hope we will get better training conditions, as we will be able to prepare better for competitions from which we have always brought home medals, thus representing not only our club and our city but also our home municipality of Centar, Ibragić emphasized.

Chairman Ajnadžić wished the guests further sporting success.

- The Centar Municipality, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević along with the Municipal Council, recognizes and supports such activities aimed at engaging youth in sports, which is one way we can change our environment, the social community, and turn Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the European Union, where new values such as sports hold a high place in the hierarchy of social values. Centar Municipality yesterday published a public call for co-financing of sports projects, to which your club must apply, Ajnadžić stressed.

Amina Crnčalo is the national judo champion, she is 9 years old and attends the fourth grade of the "Čengić Vila I" Elementary School.

- I started training at this club at the age of seven, and so far, besides becoming the national champion, I have also won over 45 medals at competitions. I have also defeated boys, said Amina.

Edin Merdan, who attends the fourth grade of "Mirsad Prnjavorac" Elementary School, is also a winner of 46 medals at competitions. He started training judo at the age of four, and his father, who also practiced this sport, passed on his love for it.

Among the guests was six-year-old Faruk Beširević, a first-grade student at "Čengić Vila I" Elementary School.

- I started training judo at the age of three and have won ten medals so far. I decided on this sport at my father's urging, because judo is a good sport and it builds real muscles, Faruk stated, as announced by the Centar Municipality.
