Concept design for the future appearance of Štrosmajerova Street presented

Making Štrosmajerova Street a promenade once again and returning it to the city, and the city to its citizens, was the guiding idea of the team of authors who created the concept design for the future appearance of this street, which was presented today in the Municipality of Stari Grad, reports the Patria news agency.

Sabin Babić, Mirza Hrustemović, Tihomir Krajtmajer and Emir Kalamujić worked on the project titled “Gallery under the Open Sky” which would turn Štrosmajerova Street into a city promenade of culture and art, paved in the form of square fields, covered on both sides of the street, with a tree-lined avenue and benches in the central part.

The street would also be connected to one of the courtyards of the adjacent buildings where a “Park of Nine Arts” would be created. One of the project authors, Mirza Hrustemović, said he is proud that the Selection Commission declared their work the best and recognized their solution as further input for the development of the street itself, as well as the Municipality of Stari Grad.

Our idea was to offer the city something new and something beautiful. Štrosmajerova Street would become a city promenade of culture and art, without borders and censorship. Together with the “Park of Nine Arts” it would form a whole where various performances, exhibitions, film screenings, etc. could be held - said Hrustemović.

Mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić explained that the concept design for Štrosmajerova was presented today, and after this, a detailed design will follow, where some corrections will most likely be made, in agreement with the authors.
