New Master's Programme in Public Procurement in Administration Presented at the Faculty of Administration

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A new one-year Master's programme in PUBLIC PROCUREMENT IN ADMINISTRATION, which will be implemented starting from the academic year 2018/2019, was presented today at the premises of the Faculty of Administration of the University of Sarajevo. Words of support for the launch of the new Master's programme were given by Prof. Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, Rector of the University of Sarajevo, and Đenan Salčin, Director of the Public Procurement Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The idea and project of introducing the new Master's programme at the Faculty of Administration - a member of the University of Sarajevo - was conceived as support for the processes of public administration reform with the aim of bringing Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to and associating it with the European Union. Highly educated and professional staff in the field of public procurement will certainly play a crucial role in this direction. Leading international institutions such as the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, SIGMA, USAID, GIZ, and the Office of the Coordinator for Public Administration Reform have expressed great interest and willingness to provide support in the implementation of this Master's programme.

The Master's programme in the field of public procurement is the first and only one in Bosnia and Herzegovina and is intended for students who, in their current and/or future orientation, are interested in acquiring and improving knowledge in the areas of planning, initiating and conducting public procurement procedures, legal protection, and contract management in public procurement procedures. Additionally, this programme is intended for officials already working on public procurement tasks in contracting authorities as well as for bidders.
