INTRODUCING: Who are the new heads of executive power in the FBiH

The Central Election Commission of BiH (CIK) has certified the list containing the names of the President and two Vice-Presidents of the Federation of BiH, reports the Patria news agency.

They are Marinko Čavara, candidate for President of the Federation of BiH, Melika Mahmutbegović, candidate for Vice-President of the FBiH, and Milan Dunović, candidate for Vice-President of the FBiH.

Their appointment to these positions must still be confirmed by both houses of the FBiH Parliament.

MARINKO ČAVARA candidate of the HDZ BiH for President of the Federation of BiH from the Croatian people, was born in 1967 in Busovača. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Zenica in 1991. With his wife Ivanka, he has three children: Bruno, Marko, and Monika.

He began his career working as a professor of mechanical subjects and physics in a high school in his hometown. In Busovača, during 1992, he was the director of the post office. He has been a member of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 1990, and in 2011 he was elected vice-president of the party.

He was Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications in the Central Bosnia Canton (SBK) from 1996 to 2001. After that, until 2005, he was director of the Cantonal Road Directorate.

In 2000, Čavara won a seat on the Busovača Municipal Council and a seat as a representative in the SBK Assembly. He worked as an advisor and expert associate to the Croatian member of the BiH Presidency, Ivo Miro Jović, in 2005 and 2006. He served two terms in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, from 2006 to 2014. 

DR. MELIKA MAHMUTBEGOVIĆ candidate of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) for Vice-President of the Federation of BiH from the Bosniak people, was born on April 20, 1959, in Bugojno. She completed primary school and high school in Bugojno. She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo in 1983. After completing her studies, she began working at the Bugojno Health Center as a general practitioner. She specialized in general surgery.

Since April 1992, she has been a member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 1995, she was elected director of the Bugojno Medical Center. At the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, she furthered her education in the field of Health Management – health economics. In the general elections of 1998, she was elected as a representative in the Cantonal Assembly of the SBK. In the 2002 general elections, she was elected as a representative in the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament. In the 2010 general elections, she was again elected to the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament. In 2014, she was elected president of the SDA Municipal Board Bugojno and was the bearer of the SDA list for the Cantonal Assembly of the SBK for the upcoming elections.

MILAN DUNOVIĆ DF candidate for Vice-President of the FBiH from the Serb people, is a graduate engineer of transport and communications, born in Sarajevo in 1974. He is employed at the company „BH Pošta", as director of the international postal traffic service. 

As a member of the Council for Economic Rights of the Political Academy of the Democratic Front, he worked on the development of the economic program „Vision 14-22", reports NAP.
