Party Presidency: Special War Against SDP

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its session today, condemned the perfidious campaign that certain centers of power and media are conducting against the SDP of BiH, with the intention of undermining the Bosnian-Herzegovinian bloc and the party's positions within it, the party announced.

“Media spins, fabricated constructions, and gossip are just a continuation of the special war that has been waged against the SDP and its officials for months. The session considered the conclusions of the session of the expanded Cantonal Board of the SDP Tuzla Canton, which call on the Presidency and the Main Board of the SDP BiH, in case of blockage of political processes due to the failure to establish a new parliamentary majority and the inability to form the Government of Tuzla Canton, to take into account the specific socio-political situation in this canton regarding the formation of government. Bearing in mind that the decisions of the Main Board of the SDP can only be revised by members of the Main Board, the Presidency of the SDP BiH did not take a stance on this, but the members of the Main Board will decide on it at the next session of this body,” the statement said.

The SDP once again condemned the illegitimate election of the SDP BiH Vice-President Denis Bećirović to the position of Deputy Head of the Bosniak Club in the state House of Peoples, which is further proof of how the SDP is intended to be made a political appendage of the SDA, which has long ceded control of the state House of Peoples to the HDZ and SNSD.

“The monopoly that the SDA has secured for the HDZ and SNSD is also visible in the content of the additional answers submitted to the European Commission. It is clear that the SDA has ceded complete control over the so-called coordination mechanism to the HDZ BiH and SNSD, and thus over the fate of the country's European and NATO integrations. The answers convincing the EU that the system of segregation in education and discrimination of citizens on an ethnic basis in the electoral process is a positive phenomenon represent a true diplomatic incident and shame for the country. Likewise, the fact that some questions remained unanswered further indicates the unseriousness of the domestic authorities and their unwillingness to genuinely commit to Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to NATO and the EU, the SDP stated.

The SDP Presidency condemned the recent attempts from Serbia to revise the facts related to the massacre at Kapija in Tuzla, which, along with the formation of commissions by the RS Government on the investigation of Srebrenica crimes and the siege of Sarajevo, represents a unscrupulous attempt to relativize crimes and distort judicially confirmed historical facts about crimes committed in the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
