SDP BiH Presidency supports agreement between unions and employers on minimum wage in FBiH

The Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of BiH condemned the Government's illegal blocking of the agreement reached by the Union of Independent Trade Unions and the FBiH Employers' Association regarding the new General Collective Agreement for the territory of FBiH.

SDP BiH particularly supports the agreement of the Union of Independent Trade Unions and the FBiH Employers' Association on the minimum wage of 406 KM and will use all legal means to ensure this agreement comes into effect, as it is in the best interest of the citizens and workers of FBiH.

It is devastating that the Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalić considers raising the minimum wage by more than three percent socially dangerous, especially since in his media appearances from July last year he promised that the Government would strive to increase the minimum wage in FBiH to 450 to 500 KM.

Members of the Presidency believe that the FBiH Government has shown great weakness through this behavior, as it did not have the courage to engage in open dialogue with social partners to find the best solution, but instead creates legal chaos and misleads the public with its actions.

Also condemned were announcements about the possible closure of the Dr. Abdulah Nakaš General Hospital in Sarajevo, because with this move, the SDA and its political allies are directly working against the interests of citizens. It is not disputed that rationalization in the healthcare of the Federation of BiH is necessary, but the victim of this rationalization must not be the General Hospital in Sarajevo and its thousands of patients.

The new announcements of holding a referendum on the work of the Court of BiH and the statements of Milorad Dodik about how the RS is a state, while BiH is not, were assessed by members of the Presidency as arrogant and without any basis, and they called on the Office of the High Representative to finally appropriately sanction all statements that directly undermine the constitutional and legal order of our country.

At the Presidency session, the continuation of activities on the promotion of the project „Our Response“ was announced, with planned visits to Jablanica, Stolac, Čapljina, Mostar, Konjic, Travnik, Bugojno, Jajce, Donji and Gornji Vakuf, Bratunac, Modriča, Banja Luka, Doboj, Teslić and other cities in BiH, the SDP stated.
