Presidency with Parliamentarians from Nordic and Baltic Countries: The Constitution is the Cornerstone of Peace in BiH

(Patria) - After the meeting of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the presidents and vice-presidents of the parliaments of the Nordic and Baltic countries (NB8), member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić stated that the meeting proceeded in a friendly and constructive dialogue.

In a conversation with the head of the NB8 delegation Andreas Norlén, Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, the member of the BiH Presidency thanked them for their interest in the developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

He emphasized that the Nordic and Baltic countries can be an excellent and practical example of good neighborly relations and mutual cooperation, the modalities of which can be utilized by both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan countries.

- The delegation that visited the BiH Presidency today conveyed something that I have been saying often lately, and that is - that it is necessary to emerge from the current political crisis as soon as possible and start working on fulfilling three conditions, which are the amendment of two laws - the Law on the Court of BiH and the HJPC, the appointment of the chief negotiator, and the adoption of the Growth Plan.



They stated that they want to send a strong, joint message for strengthening the democratic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its path towards the European Union, and for the country's progress in general. I thanked them for their support from the war onwards, for their assistance to BiH, both expert and material.

Condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the NB8 countries stated that the current Constitution of BiH is the cornerstone of peace in our country, that everything must be resolved in accordance with it, and that, of course, they support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.

Although we have their unconditional support on our Euro-Atlantic path, we in BiH must resolve the newly created problems and move forward with the much-needed reforms in the country - Komšić stated after the meeting.

NB8 consists of the Nordic and Baltic countries, namely Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
