NiP Presidency: We do not accept blackmail from coalition partners regarding the BiH Constitutional Court and state property

(Patria) - At the session of the Presidency of the People and Justice party held in Tešanj on October 12, 2023, seven conclusions were adopted in which, among other things, steps forward on the European path of BiH are welcomed, but it is also clearly stated that People and Justice does not accept any blackmail nor will it support any solutions that harm the state.

At the 12th session of the Presidency of People and Justice, the highest executive body of the party, the adopted conclusions focus on the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina with a clear message that the commitment of People and Justice is and remains the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedication to the coalition agreement, but also the refusal to accept any blackmail.

Adopted conclusions of the Presidency of People and Justice:

1. People and Justice expresses satisfaction with the adopted set of laws from the 14 priorities from the opinion of the European Commission on accession to the European Union, which were adopted in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, considering this a step forward on the European path of BiH, after years of stagnation. Also, we point out the necessity of accelerating the process of adopting the remaining laws, with the aim of fulfilling the conditions for opening negotiations with the European Union and the availability of pre-accession financial support for BiH and access to the EU single market.

2. We expect that the aforementioned progress on the European path, made in a complex political situation in BiH, will be recognized by European officials and that they will respond positively with new concrete opportunities for BiH. We believe that a positive response from the European Union and providing certainty for the start of accession negotiations is of exceptional importance at the current moment, especially in the context of strengthening citizens' trust in the European path of BiH.

3. At the same time, People and Justice does not accept any blackmail coming from certain coalition partners, primarily from SNSD, nor the adoption of legal solutions that harm the state of BiH, which, among other things, relate to the issue of state property of BiH and resolving the issue of foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of BiH.

4. We once again confirm our firm commitment to the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, dedication to the Troika coalition, and a fair and responsible attitude towards coalition agreements.

5. We welcome visible results and support the continuation of activities of representatives of People and Justice in improving processes and BiH's progress in the field of foreign affairs and better international positioning. We emphasize the exceptional importance of the presence of BiH representatives at international decision-making tables in the current geopolitical situation and an active role in significant political processes.

6. We support positive steps at the level of the Federation of BiH and lower levels of government, where People and Justice participates in the executive branch. We particularly welcome the adoption of a set of energy laws at the FBiH level, as well as the announced imminent reduction of payroll contributions, relief for the business sector, and a significant increase in the minimum wage in FBiH.

7. People and Justice expresses satisfaction with the opening of its new municipal office in Čapljina, and emphasizes its commitment to further expansion of the organization in Herzegovina, as well as throughout the entire territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
