Presidency of BiH Adopts Budget of BiH Institutions, Komšić Votes Against

(Patria) - The Presidency of BiH determined at today's extraordinary session the Bill on the Budget of BiH Institutions and BiH's International Obligations for 2024 in the amount of 1,355,400,000 KM, with votes from Denis Bećirović and Željka Cvijanović, while Željko Komšić voted against.

Komšić stated that it is impossible to review 460 pages in a few hours, as the document arrived at the Presidency this morning at 10 AM, and the session was scheduled for 3 PM.

"I believe the budget should have at least gone through the regular procedure in the Parliamentary Assembly," Komšić said.

The Council of Ministers of BiH adopted the budget of Bosnia and Herzegovina's institutions for 2024 at yesterday's session in Mostar, but with corrections compared to the proposed Draft.

The Ministry of Defense of BiH had 1.7 million KM returned out of the 3.5 million KM that was removed, and the Presidency of BiH had 500,000 KM returned out of the 931,000 KM that was removed. Therefore, the budget of the Presidency of BiH was reduced by 431,000 KM compared to last year's budget.

The Presidency of BiH, as the formal proposer, is now sending the budget for adoption to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.

For the budget to be adopted, it must be supported by both houses of the PA BiH, and emergency sessions of both the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the PA BiH have already been announced.

Although the House of Peoples of the PA is in blockade, the Bosniak Caucus has announced that they will support the adoption of the Budget of Institutions at the emergency session.
