Presidency of BiH: Selection of candidates for positions in the Council of Europe, OSCE, and European Court of Human Rights begins

(Patria) - At the request of BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović, an extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency was held, during which the Decision on appointing a commission for conducting the procedure for the Public Call for applications of candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina for positions in the Council of Europe and OSCE, and for the selection of candidates for the position of judge on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) was unanimously adopted.

The Commission's task is, in accordance with the Decision on the Procedure for Appointing Ambassadors and Other International Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to conduct procedures and establish a list of three candidates for the position of judge on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the European Court of Human Rights and for positions in the Council of Europe and OSCE, and to submit the same to the BiH Presidency for consideration and decision-making.

This is a continuation of Bećirović's efforts to resolve this issue. Among other things, at the 18th regular session of the BiH Presidency, held on September 5, 2024, at the request of the BiH Presidency member and then-Chairman of the BiH Presidency Bećirović, the Information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH was considered,
regarding the public call for applications of candidates from Bosnia and Herzegovina for positions in the Council of Europe and OSCE, and for the selection of candidates for the position of judge on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the European Court of Human Rights.
