BiH Presidency asks the Council of Ministers to accelerate activities on the reconstruction of flooded areas

At today's session, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all other competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to accelerate and intensify activities and invest additional efforts in the recovery and reconstruction of areas affected by the natural disaster, and to accelerate the necessary activities and procedures for the implementation of financial resources collected at the international donor conference, taking into account the urgent needs of the affected population and the damage incurred in the affected areas, especially in the reconstruction of housing, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina noted that the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has not fully implemented the earlier conclusions of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the recovery and reconstruction of the affected areas, and therefore requested the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina to fully implement these conclusions and report to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the matter.

With the aim of providing assistance to the affected population in the affected areas in eliminating the consequences of the natural disaster and normalizing life, the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina at the session adopted a Decision on the engagement of resources of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina to provide assistance to civilian authorities in: the municipality of Bratunac for the rehabilitation of road communications, in the municipality of Čelinac for the rehabilitation of the riverbed, in the municipality of Žepče for the rehabilitation of landslides and road communications, in the municipality of Osmaci for the rehabilitation of landslides, riverbeds and road communications, in the municipality of Bijeljina - Janja for the construction of embankments, in the municipality of Srebrenica for the rehabilitation of riverbeds and eight damaged bridges, and in the municipality of Kostajnica for the rehabilitation of roads, canals and landslides.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a Decision on accepting the Amendment to the Grant Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA, which provides for financial assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina to respond to the consequences of the floods by directing approximately 10 million dollars for the reconstruction of schools and kindergartens for 60,000 affected children, so that they can start school on time, and for the construction of camps for receiving children during the summer and early autumn, reports Patria.
