Presidency of BiH appointed a new convocation of the Governing Board of the Central Bank of BiH

(Patria) - At today's 35th extraordinary session of the Presidency of BiH, at the initiative of member of the Presidency of BiH Denis Bećirović, a new convocation of the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH) was unanimously appointed.

The mandate of the outgoing Governing Board expired on August 11, 2021.

At Bećirović's proposal, Prof. Dr. Jasmina Selimović and Prof. Dr. Mirza Kršo were appointed to the Governing Board of the CBBH.

Selimović and Kršo are professors at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, in the field of Finance. Within their academic, as well as professional and expert activities, they have profiled themselves in the domain of banking and insurance, as well as monetary economics and monetary integration.

Jasmina Selimović is a full professor and dean of the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, which she graduated from in 2003, where she also defended her doctoral dissertation in the field of finance (actuarial science) and obtained the title of Doctor of Economic Sciences. Since 2004, she has been engaged at the Department of Finance and the Department of Quantitative Economics of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo.

Currently, as a full professor, she teaches subjects in the fields of Finance, Quantitative Economics, and Actuarial Science. She has also gained teaching experience at faculties outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In addition to her involvement in the teaching process, she held the positions of deputy head of the Department of Finance, vice-dean for teaching and international cooperation, and in 2018 she was elected dean of the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo. In 2022, she renewed her four-year mandate.

She is a member of numerous professional associations at home and abroad. She is active in world organizations for the accreditation of business schools and universities, and is also engaged as an international expert for accreditation at quality agencies in EU countries.

She is the author and co-author of several books and chapters in monographs, numerous scientific and professional articles published in internationally indexed journals, conference proceedings, and professional journals.

Mirza Kršo is an associate professor of Finance at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo (EFSA) and a consultant at the Economic Institute of Sarajevo (EIS).

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, majoring in Banking and Insurance, when he was elected student representative of the 2002 generation. He defended his master's and doctoral dissertations at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo on the topics of financial regulation and taxation issues.

After experiences in the real sector, he moved from the financial sector to the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, where he has been a member of the Department of Finance since 2009. The fields he covers include public finance, monetary economics and monetary integration, public sector management, financial markets and institutions.

In parallel, he held a number of entrusted positions at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo in support of organizational, operational, and teaching activities, as well as being a member of the ethics committee.

He was a member of several organizational committees of international conferences, as well as editorial boards of internationally indexed journals. He has continuously developed and gained teaching experience and professional development at universities across the EU. He has also lectured at numerous professional training courses, especially in the field of real estate management and valuation.

For many years, together with the MIT Center EFSA and in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences and Arts of BiH, he participated in the preparation, development, and presentation of a series of reports on the competitiveness of BiH and the Southeast European region (2008-2014).

He is a member of several professional associations and one of the founders of the BiH branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He participated in the work of management structures in the public, non-governmental, and private sectors.

As a consultant in the fields of finance and economic analysis, he has collaborated with almost all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina and numerous international organizations, as well as in a number of domestic and international projects as a project leader and member of research teams.

As an author and co-author, he has published several books, textbooks, and chapters in monographs, a number of scientific and professional articles published in reference journals, conference proceedings, and professional journals.

The new convocation of the Governing Board consists of Prof. Dr. Jasmina Selimović, Prof. Dr. Mirza Kršo, Prof. Dr. Danijela Martinović, Prof. Dr. Darko Tomaš, and Prof. Dr. Radomir Božić.
