BiH Presidency to consider the 'mini Schengen' issue

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - BiH Presidency Chairman Šefik Džaferović confirmed that a regular session of the BiH Presidency will be held on September 17.

"I ask that we observe all these processes with cool heads and approach them accordingly. I ask that important life issues be discussed first - these six topics (related to the fight against the pandemic, BiH's European path, the implementation of the Reform Program submitted to NATO, the fight against illegal migration, the fight against human trafficking, and an initiative to take a stance related to mini Schengen), and then each member of the Presidency has the right to request an extraordinary session, and I must schedule it," said Džaferović. 

He initially scheduled the session without knowing that initiatives would be sent by Milorad Dodik to move the BiH embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and by Željko Komšić regarding the consideration of Kosovo's recognition. 

"I will never take any action to gain some cheap political points that could in any way destabilize BiH, but I will be very resolute in my responses to such attacks coming from other sides," added Džaferović. 

Džaferović confirmed that the initiative to move the BiH embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem was not discussed, but that he mentioned it in his introductory remarks at the meeting with US diplomat Matthew Palmer and stated that this possibility is unacceptable to him.
