There is always a need to meet and talk with the Reis-ul-ulema. I personally respect the Reis-ul-ulema as a measured and moderate man, inclined towards dialogue, which is very important for Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in these times when we are witnessing difficult situations in Syria, Iraq, Libya.
Therefore, it is very important to promote dialogue, trust, and goodness here, not radicalism of any kind – stated the president of the Croatian Cultural Society Napredak, Professor Franjo Topić, after meeting with the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazović on Friday, reports the Patria News Agency.
Topić said that the Reis-ul-ulema's recent public statements were calming, which is very important, for the reason that every person has the potential for both good and evil to develop. Therefore, Topić believes, it is important for everyone to develop what is good in their own appropriate way. He explains that something like this is important for education, the media, and society as a whole.
Topić thanked the Reis-ul-ulema for the support he gave for the Pope's visit to Sarajevo this summer.
– I personally think that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a mission for dialogue and ecumenism, considering that Orthodox, Catholics, and Muslims live here – says Topić.
The president of the Croatian Cultural Society Napredak also presented the Reis-ul-ulema with a gift consisting of Napredak publications, reports Patria.
