(Patria) - Following last week's visit of the North Atlantic Council to Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Deputy Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier Bahri Yildiz met today in Camp Butmir with the President of Slovenia Nataša Pirc Musar.
During the meeting, Brigadier Yildiz thanked Slovenia for its dedicated contribution to the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo team, as well as for the continuous partnership with the Armed Forces of BiH.
Yildiz also thanked Slovenia for its contribution to the defence capacity building package for BiH, part of which was demonstrated last week during the visit of the North Atlantic Council delegation to the Rajlovac barracks.
Both sides emphasized the benefits of mutual assistance between Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the event of natural disasters, such as the floods that hit BiH in 2014, when members of the Slovenian Armed Forces came to help local communities with recovery, as well as the engagement of BiH Armed Forces resources to assist the Slovenian people after the devastating floods in the summer of 2023.
During the visit, President Pirc Musar expressed strong commitment to the European and Euro-Atlantic integration processes of BiH, and to the further strengthening of the capabilities of the Armed Forces of BiH.
