Chairman Zvizdić at the Munich Security Conference

MUNICH, (Patria) - The 54th International Security Conference began today in Munich, attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić.

The conference is attended by 30 heads of state and government, and the topics relate to discussions on major international security challenges and are focused on threats to the international liberal order, conflicts in the Middle East, and arms control with an emphasis on North Korea's nuclear program.

The conference began with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, followed by addresses from the German and French defense ministers, Ursula von der Leyen and Florence Parly, as well as the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani. An address by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg is also expected.

Chairman Zvizdić will also attend a panel today on the future of the EU as a global factor and relations with Russia and the USA.

The Munich Security Conference was first held in 1962.
